About the Author
Born on a golden autumn morning, Chris Beckwith inherited the creative genes of his mother, a passionate landscape painter. He attended a university in China to study ancient poetry, and did adventurous fieldwork in Afghanistan and Russia. Scientist by day, writer by night, ingeniously quick witted, Chris (a MacArthur Fellow, true fact) creates parallel worlds that are much like ours except for the little twists that produce the butterfly effect. His stories are gripping and full of unexpected turns, with real characters like you and me who spring to life from the very first page, endowed with colorful and endearing language.
